Is Donald Trump a Politician?

Some people think Donald Trump is not a politician, so they can safely believe what he says and does. But that’s a mistake. Not only is Donald Trump a politician, he’s far more effective at politics than conventional politicians are. The defining characteristic of most or all politicians is a desire for power, and DJT has become the most powerful of them all! As president he has been “consolidating power” in his presidency, and has personally been exercising and directing that power. Even if you believe he’s truly serving the American people (which is debatable), it’s hard to dispute he’s been diminishing the influence and power of the rest of the federal government, and is likely to continue to do so. Don’t forget, one way or another eventually Donald Trump will no longer be president, and a new president will then be imbued with all of that consolidated presidential power. The founders purposely and permanently divided the power of the federal government so that one person can’t legally obtain and use all of it. Why? Because one person with that much power may not be trustworthy. Due to their experience under King George III the founders knew only too well that giving one person an overabundance of power is a bad idea.
